Not long ago, Rare announced they would be implementing a “Death Cost” in their recently released pirate game Sea of Thieves. This would introduce a fine of (in-game) gold every time a player died. This announcement was instantly met with outrage from players.
This has led Sea of Thieves Executive Producer Joe Neate to issue a statement. Tweeting..
“Letting everyone know we’ve heard the feedback and the proposed ‘Death Cost’ in
#SeaOfThieves is, well, dead. We messed up with the messaging around this, and it’s now gone. Thanks for the honest feedback and discussion on this.”
