Rugbug Redfern have released a new patch for their popular free-to-play first-person shooter Redmatch 2. This update adds a new map called Orbit, additional languagte support, and several other changes and bugfixes.
Redmatch 2 is available for PC via Steam. You can view the patch notes down below:
Changes
- Added a new map, Orbit
- Added language support. Pick the language you want to play in from the main menu. It will default to the language steam is running in. There are 11 languages so far, but more are planned for future updates
- Removed the old account system. You no longer need to sign up to track stats or earn experience
- Optimized the networking code a ton. You should see much less latency when killing players and moving around
- Added a physics tickrate setting, which will make the game feel a lot smoother at the cost of performance. A map reload is required for it to take effect
- Re-added chat
- Added Steam Chat Filtering, which means you now control the chat filter level through your steam account
- Added a controller detection notice since far too many people were asking me why their player was looking up at the sky
Bugfixes
- Fixed the First Aid achievement not working
- Unlocked hidden achievements will now show the proper unlocked icon
- Fixed some lighting errors on the map Village
