According to a report by ESPN, two addition franchise holders for the Overwatch league have been secured. Sources for the major sports outlet have said spots in both Houston and Philadelphia have been purchased for $20 million each. Co-Owner of both the Texas Rangers and OpTic Gaming would secure the Houston spot while Comcast Spectator would take the slot in Philly.
Sources for ESPN also noted that Blizzard wants to recruit 14 teams for the inaugural season. At the time of publishing, 9 teams are currently in the Overwatch League with 3 more yet to be confirmed. Teams confirmed include Boston, New York, London, Miami-Orlando, San Francisco, Shanghai, Seoul, and Los Angeles. The three unconfirmed teams include Comcast Spectator (Philadelphia), Team EnVyUs (Austin-Dallas), and OpTic (Houston).
