According to three sources for Kotaku, Fallout 76 will be an online survival RPG.
The game originally started off as a multiplayer version of Fallout 4, but has involved into its own standalone game. While development and ideas are consistently changing, it does contain various features including base building, side quests, and a story.
It will also be based on Vault 76 which has previously been mentioned in both Fallout 3 and Fallout 4. Based on its back story, it could be a different feel compared to previous installment as this vault was meant to be open 20 years after the nuclear war.
We’ve also learned that two studios are working on this game. The new Austin studio, previously known as BattleCry Studios, and Bethesda’s main office in Maryland are working on different ports of the game.
Fallout 76 is in development for PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.
