Hard Drive space has increased a crazy amount within the past decade. The fact that we are now getting less than 10 cents per gigabyte was hard to fathom back then. Now it seems like the guys over at Seagate are preparing to launch a even larger Hard Drive then what we’ve seen before.
ExtremeTech is reporting that Seagate will be releasing an 8 terabyte hard drive very soon. The report suggests that they will have an MSRP of $260 and have already began shipping to retailers. The HDD will have a 3-year warranty included with NCQ support and self-encryption. As far as some of the specs, it will be more about cheap storage then performance with 128MB of cache and 5,900 RPM.
