In 1998 after a couple of attempts Sega created a good 3D Sonic game for the Sega Dreamcast known as Sonic Adventure. It’s one of the most popular games in the speedrunning community and is also featured every year during SGDQ.
Today Gpro set the world record under the Sonic Story category. Gpro completed it using the TAS (Tool-Assisted Speedrun) Route and did it in a time of 29 minutes 56 seconds. This beats the previous world record held by a_mustache and their time of 31 minutes 13 seconds. What’s even more crazy is that the cutscenes are not skip-able, so Gpro’s in-game time was only 14 minutes 43 seconds.
