According to a new report by Bloomberg, Sony Interactive Entertainment will be cutting around 4 million Playstation 5 units from production. The company planned on producing 15 million units by the end of the fiscal year ending in March 2021, but has shrunk that number down to 11 million.
This report stats that the main cause of this is due manufacturing problems directly related to a system-on-chip production yield to around 50%.
It’s unclear at this time if the company will be able to keep their promise on 10 million units produced and shipped worldwide by the end of 2020.
