According to a new video by games journalist Tom Henderson, Quantic Dream are having loads of issues with the development of Star Wars Eclipse.
Sources for Henderson say that most of the problems originate from allegations of a toxic work environment that has been coming out regarding the studio since 2018. This has caused a huge staffing problem within Quantic Dream for some time. One of the interesting stories is that Quantic Dream were reportedly trying to sell themself after the release of Detroit: Become Human, but couldn’t find any buyers due to all the workplace allegations.
It’s also being reported that the game has been in development for 18 months, but the company still do not have a playable version of any kind. One major concern that the developers have had is the game engine itself. The game engine currently being used for Star Wars Eclipse is said to have only been designed for titles with limited NPC’s and confined levels. Indicated that some gamers could find the world to be empty and linear.
