Speaking with Dualshockers, Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata said they have yet to decide if they were going to bring Final Fantasy XV to the Nintendo Switch, but did admit they have tried some test. The company attempted to run the Luminous engine on the platform, but said that at the time they can’t “bring out the most of the engine.”
Tabata also went on to say that he has nothing negative to say about the Switch and it comes down to the Luminous engine not being optimized for it. They did make tests with both Unity and Unreal Engine 4, with some success.
Many fans now believe that if a Switch version comes to fruition, it could be the Pocket Edition that’s currently in development for Windows 10, iOS, and Android.
