Over the past couple of days several women have come forward to make accusations with major Twitch streamers ranging from sexual assault to sexual conduct. Since then Twitch, have come out on social media to release a statement regarding the matter.
The company stated the following:
Response to this was met with backlash with many saying noting that actions speak louder than words and have pointed to past issues related to Alinity. It also doesn’t help that Twitch streamer Starling took to her Twitter to claim that is a recorded meeting from an All Hands meeting last year, Twitch CEO Emmett Shear was asked about partners abusing women with an issue involving her being used as an example. Shear allegedly said “wow, the things that go on on our platform, can’t really comment,” and moved on.
