The folks over at Hard4Games recently obtained an Xbox 360 XDK Test Kit and what they found on it contains something important to the archiving of video games. On the hard drive, they found an unreleased game called Cipher Complex.
Originally planned for release on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, Cipher Complex started development in 2005 and was being developed by Edge of Reality Games. In 2007, the Sega was set to publish the game once development was complete, but was quietly cancelled some time in 2009.
Edge of Reality developed many ports on the Nintendo 64 including the first three Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games and Spider-Man. Before closing down in 2017, the studio had released Loadout and Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark.
