Great news for people who do not like the practice of loot boxes as Valorant executive producer Anna Donlon confirmed to Polygon that the game will not contain any loot boxes. While the game will be free-to-play, it will only microtransactions of the cosmetic kind and a battle pass.
Donlon also said that character skins will not have an impact on the overall gameplay. Stating:
“I think [character skins] would have to be in a way that there’s absolutely nothing to impact the gameplay. It’ll be narrow. I think there’s a way to do that. And those are things that we’re interested in exploring.”
