Xbox head Phil Spencer recently talked with CVG about the future of Rare, the company that brought us Banjo Kazooie and Conker’s Bad Fur Day. Spencer admitted that the company is working on a new “Rare Game”.
Below is an excerpt…
“I think it’s about them thinking about the next game that’s going to be the next ‘Rare game’ and really stand for what they are. I know they’ve got some great ideas. I’ve not been up to Twycross for maybe six months, but I’m planning on getting up there this fall and seeing bits for the new game. But I know they’re hard at work and Phil Harrison has been up talking to them.”
This comes as good news for the company as they were rumored to be under evaluation from Microsoft after the company no longer set Kinect as a priority and deciding they would no longer be including Kinect with Xbox One. The last game Rare developed was Kinect Sports Sports Rivals which did not do well in game sales.
