Wildstar Going Free-To-Play

Carbine Studios has announced that MMO Game Wildstar will officially go Free-To-Play starting some time this Autumn.

 

This won’t be like World of Warcraft where it’s free until you reach level 15 and have multiple caps. Wildstar will entirely be free. This will include all Raids, Dungeons, Missions, and PvP modes. Players will also be allowed to pay a monthly subscription in order to receive extra XP, and currency awards. Wildstar will also have an in-game store that will sell cosmetic items for real money.

 

Carbine will also be rebalancing the game with these changes…

  • Streamlining player and item stats to be much more intuitive while adding high-level options to give players more flexibility.
  • Making the Amp system easier to use by unlocking all Amp slots.
  • Reviewing dungeons and open world content so that the experience is challenging, but not brutal.
  • Changing the tutorial and early game experience to provide a better and quicker introduction.
