One big speculation that many around the world had after the announcement that Microsoft were acquiring Activision Blizzard was that most or all of their IPs would be exclusive to PC and Xbox. So much so that you could make the argument is to being a partial reason why Sony lost $20 billion in market value shortly after this announcement.
Well Playstation fans can sigh in relief as Xbox head Phil Spencer took to Twitter to confirm that they will continue to honor all existing agreements Activision Blizzard had with Playstation and that Call of Duty would remain on the Playstation consoles. Stating:
Had good calls this week with leaders at Sony. I confirmed our intent to honor all existing agreements upon acquisition of Activision Blizzard and our desire to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation. Sony is an important part of our industry, and we value our relationship.
While this may be the case, some still believe that Microsoft could still make titles timed-exclusive to their systems or load their versions with loads more exclusive material.
